Although he was born in Santa Barbara, Bryan has lived in Oxnard for the majority of his career. After
graduating high school, he was hired by the City of Oxnard as a police cadet and had a rewarding and
fulfilling career with the Oxnard Police Department starting as a police officer and retiring after 30 years at
the rank of Assistant Chief of Police. His emphasis was in the area of code enforcement and he will make
this a continued priority for the city. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice, a Master of Public Administration
and a JD from Ventura College of Law.
As he progressed in his career, he quickly came to the realization that Oxnard was home to him and his wife
of 22 years, Lorraine. They chose to stay here in Oxnard, where their hearts are and where their family and
they live. Having served 30 years in public service, striving to make the community a better place to live and
work, he could not simply hang up his hat and just walk away. For this reason he has chosen to run for City
Council. This city has thrived through the years and he wants to build upon those successes. He wants this
to be the city that we are all proud of and that continues to be the place were we want our families to live.
He has been blessed with a good career, a loving family and a wonderful community and now it’s time for
him to take his public service to the next level by serving on the Oxnard City Council. He wants to be part
of the process that works in an organized and measured fashion to ensure the livability and sustainability of
our community. We must continue to have recreational opportunities for our youth and to develop clean,
safe, attractive and prosperous neighborhoods. The time is now to ensure our future success. He brings
thirty years of experience in public service, team and consensus building and a perspective that will allow
this city to continue on a positive path.
